OK, full disclosure: I have started this blog as part of an assignment as I begin my Masters in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. I am excited about the course work and the blog as I’ve been running the library at St. George’s School in Vancouver for the past two years on a part-time basis and am now able to dive fully into the world of libraries and information science. What has intrigued me most about working in the school library over the past two years and has been the major impetus behind my desire to dig deeper is the rapidly changing face of libraries in the face of current technology and in particular, how this impacts the school library. I expect that over the next couple of years I will answer many of my current questions and create a far greater list of questions that need to be answered. I hope that you join me in my adventure and poke and prod me along the way.
I have had a number of blogs in the past – mostly dead now – and I know that I get the most out of a blog when it becomes a discussion. One blog that is current, although not entirely written by me, that may be of interest is that of our school library. Please drop by and give us a visit there.
Hopefully I’ll see friends and classmates here regularly.
